The aim of this Conference is to bring together specialists from different fields that are related to Optics & Photonics, key enabling technologies at European and global level. The scope is to put forth these two domains in the eyes of the Romanian community and to provide a forum for international experts.

Benefiting from the endorsement of SPIE, the International Society of Optics and Photonics (https://spie.org/), the program includes dedicated sessions to leading infrastructure development programs, including the Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI, https://www.eli-laser.eu/) and the Romanian IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) on microelectronics. These workshops aim to bridge the gap between various scientific communities—including Physics, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and Medicine.

The final scope is to develop an Optics & Photonics Romanian Platform, well linked to international scientific societies and bringing together academia and industry – with a capability to help setting National priorities and foster international collaboration for these two domains, Optics and Photonics, which have been responsible for over 11% of the global GDP.
