Postdoctoral Position in Ultrafast Physics, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic (Deadline: 26.10.2025)

We are excited to announce a postdoctoral position in the field of theoretical ultrafast physics, available in the research group led by Dr. Zdeněk Mašín and Dr. Jakub Benda at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Charles University in Prague. The work will be performed in close collaboration with the experimental group of Prof. Reinhard Kienberger at TU Munich, bridging theoretical modeling with state-of-the-art attosecond experiments. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated researcher to advance their career in a collaborative and stimulating academic environment in the heart of Europe.
Research Focus
– Theoretical modeling of attosecond streaking of molecules in the gas phase and on surfaces.
– Multi-photon spectroscopy of molecules.
– Development of computer codes and new methodologies employing the molecular R-matrix approach (both stationary and time-dependent).
Position Details
Duration: 2-3 years.
Salary: Flexible, depending on the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
We seek a highly motivated individual with a PhD in physics, chemistry, or a related field, with expertise in quantum physics/chemistry, computational methods, or ultrafast phenomena. Strong programming skills and experience with ab initio methods are advantageous.
