Salary: Starting at €2,002.82 gross per month, depending on professional experience
Desired Education Level: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

The Mission:
In collaboration with the LP3 research team and under the supervision of the LaMP platform managers, the engineer implements, operates, and develops femtosecond laser micromachining processes, ensuring the operation, maintenance, and technological evolution of a femtosecond laser process station dedicated to collaborative projects and services. He/She contributes to the technological development of the platform through the integration of experimental devices from research and participates in technology transfer to industry.

Main Activities:
▪ Operation of the femtosecond laser micromachining station (implementation, optical adjustments, diagnostics).

▪ Provision of technological services for academic and industrial partners.

▪ Participation in the hardware and software development of the platform. Design, integration, and testing of add-on modules for the micromachining station.

▪ Routine maintenance and technical support for collaborative R&D projects and platform development activities.

▪ Contribution to the drafting of technical documents (protocols, service reports, operating procedures).

Skills:
▪ Knowledge of micromachining technologies, photonics, precision processes, and/or optical metrology. • Laser physics, laser-matter interaction, ultrafast optics (desired).

• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM and system automation (desired).

• English language: B2 to C1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and computer tools for data processing.

• Knowledge of Python, MatLab, LabVIEW, equipment control, and data acquisition systems is a plus.

Operational Skills:
• Manipulation of laser beams and optoelectronic devices.

• Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis (optics, electronics, mechanics).

• Design and integration of experimental modules (optics, mechanics, electronics).

• Adaptability to research environments and industrial collaborations.

• Teamwork, progressive autonomy, and strong written and oral technical communication skills. Skills development in optics, plasma, and/or materials, if necessary, through interaction with research teams.

Work Context
▪ Location: The position is based at Aix-Marseille University (LP3, UMR CNRS 7341) and assigned to the LaMP Platform (Luminy, Marseille).

▪ On-call duties and potential working conditions: Occasional travel for training, troubleshooting at suppliers’ facilities, or participation in technical trade shows/workshops.
