From 12-14 May 2025, the Laserlab-Europe community came together at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, for a dynamic three-day series of events, including the Laserlab-Europe Annual Meeting and the AISBL General Assembly.

The gathering kicked off on 12 May with the Lasers4EU Workshop on Standardised Performance Assessment, alongside a visit to the Central Laser Facility (CLF) and an opening address by John Collier, Director of CLF and Executive Director of Laserlab-Europe.

On 13 May, the spotlight turned to cutting-edge research and collaboration, with parallel workshops focusing on Cultural Heritage, Targets for Laser Fusion, and Lasers for Green Energy. These sessions, which were also open to participants outside of Laserlab-Europe, explored advances in laser-based conservation techniques, high-energy target fabrication, and sustainable energy technologies, drawing participation from international researchers and industry representatives. The day concluded with a presentation of workshop outcomes and a networking dinner, fostering further exchange among attendees.

The final day featured the internal Laserlab-Europe AISBL General Assembly, where member institutions discussed strategic planning and future joint initiatives. Luis Arnaut (CLL) has been elected Vice Chair of the General Assembly, making him a member of the Laserlab-Europe AISBL Management Board. The meeting wrapped up with a social visit to Christ Church and its scenic meadow, reinforcing the collegial spirit of the event.
