Fully funded 3-year PhD studentship in ultrafast photochemical dynamics, University College London, UK (Deadline: 07.10.2025)
Fully funded 3-year PhD studentship in ultrafast photochemical dynamics
Start date: 1 February, 1 May or 1 October 2026
The overall aim of the project will be to develop a molecular level understanding of how non-covalent interactions between fluorescent chromophores and their microenvironment in proteins tune their fluorescence properties. The PhD project will involve carrying out fluorescence lifetime spectroscopy and femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy measurements, together with complementary computational chemistry calculations.
More details about the project and how to apply may be found here: Postgraduate Research | Faculty of Mathematical & Physical Sciences
Applications are welcome from UK nationals, EU students with settled/pre-settled status and students with indefinite leave to remain or enter. Please note that the studentship only covers home fees. The updated rules for eligibility for home fees for next year are available at View Website.
