Network on extreme intensity laser systems (NEILS)

In the framework of the Laserlab-Europe project the ‘Network on Extreme Intensity Laser Systems’ (NEILS) was established in order to bring together high-energy/high-power laser facilities amongst the Laserlab-Europe partners for technical exchange and scientific discussions primarily focussing on operation as user facilities. The partners RAL/CLF, GSI, ORION, CLPU, Apollon/LULI, and HZDR wish to continue this networking activity beyond the duration of Laserlab-Europe V in the form of an Expert Group, with the name: Expert Group ‘Network on Extreme Intensity Laser Systems’.

The expert group will commence its work in the near future. First, the already identified contact persons will meet in order to discuss the upcoming actions, e.g. the next in-person meeting of the network. Additionally, it is planned to begin with the discussions on the path for the realization of the proposed online platform, with the aim of fostering the exchange of know-how, information and material within the community. These first meetings will all be virtual meetings.

For additional information on the Expert Group please contact Zsuzsanna Major (GSI).
