Postdoc position, Nanophotonics, INRS-EMT, Canada (Deadline: 03.04.2025)

Research activities will be related to the numerical design and optical characterization of metasurfaces and nanophotonic devices for enhancing radiation-matter interactions. We target applications in strong coupling experiments, as well as in nonlinear light generation and manipulation, also via spontaneous wave-mixing processes for novel quantum light sources. We are particularly interested in exploring the coupling of terahertz nanoresonators with 2D materials to modify their phonon response; and innovative nonlinear material platforms, including nanostructured dielectrics for the artificial manipulation of their optical nonlinearities. Collaborations with internationally recognized experts in the fields of nanofabrication, quantum optics, and 2D material science are in place for the successful realization of these investigations.
The specific research activities will be tailored around these topics according to the expertise and interests of the selected candidate. A second postdoctoral position will be offered in case of outstanding quality of the applications received.
