PhD Position in Computational 2D-IR Spectroscopy at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany

a PhD position in the field of computational 2D-IR spectroscopy is available in the Horch group, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. The position is supposed to start as soon as possible. The application deadline is 14 September 2026, but applications sent later will be considered until the position is filled.

The PhD project aims to gain detailed insights into [NiFe] hydrogenases and other metalloenzymes by providing a thorough understanding of the information encoded in the 2D-IR spectra of these bioinorganic catalysts. To this end, various computational tools and theoretical concepts will be applied to simulate spectra and extract information that is not directly accessible by experiments.
