IT technician position for Network Infrastructure of Control Cystems for Laser Beam Stabilisation, Darmstadt, Germany (Deadline: 26.02.2026)

Project Context (ALADIN & LAOTSE)

Future Inertial Fusion Energy (IFE) facilities will rely on high-power laser systems with hundreds of beamlines that must be operated with a high degree of automation and stability. The ALADIN project develops concepts and technologies for such Adaptive Laser Architectures (ALA).

The work package LAOTSE (Laser Adaptive Optics Testbed for Stabilization Experiments) will establish a dedicated experimental platform to emulate the behaviour of large high-energy laser systems. For this purpose, an IT environment is required that realistically mimics a laser facility control system: a local network with several control computers, infrastructure services and high-throughput camera connections. The advertised position will set up this infrastructure and prepare it for long-term use by the scientific team.
