Title: Time-resolved fluorescence imaging
Speaker: Daniela Comelli, Politecnico di Milano, Italy
Date: 24 May 2024, 2:00pm-3:00pm CEST

Time-resolved fluorescence imaging is a powerful investigation method for biology and materials science. Excitation is provided by a pulsed laser, while point detectors (e.g. PMT or SPAD) or gated cameras can be used to measure the temporal decay of emission at all points in the field of view (FOV). Fitting the data with an appropriate model then provides maps of the fluorescence lifetime and amplitude in the FOV. The webinar aims to provide a basic introduction to the principles of fluorescence emission. Then, the most common experimental methods will be briefly presented with examples of applications.
