SUMMARY:School and Workshop on Quantum Science and Technology
DESCRIPTION:CUANTOS 8 is a school and workshop dedicated to quantum science and technology\, aimed at advanced students\, PhD candidates\, postdoctoral researchers\, and scientists working on the foundations and applications of quantum mechanics. \nThe eighth edition will take place at the Centro Atómico Bariloche and will combine intensive training activities with scientific exchange\, in an environment conducive to discussion and collaboration. \nActivities\nThe CUANTOS 8 program will take place over five days and will include: \n\nSix courses / tutorials delivered by researchers of recognized expertise\, with a graduate-level focus.\nShort contributed talks by participants\, with special emphasis on presentations by PhD students and early-career researchers.\nDedicated spaces for scientific discussion\, exchange of ideas\, and interaction among participants.\n\nContributed talks will be presented in oral format and will constitute the main forum for the presentation and discussion of scientific results. \nTopics covered\nThe areas addressed during the school and workshop will include\, among others: \n\nQuantum computation and quantum information\nBosonic codes and quantum error correction\nColor centers and solid-state quantum platforms\nMechanical systems in the quantum regime\nCavity quantum materials\nQuantum thermodynamics and open quantum systems\n\nThe program aims to reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the field and to connect theoretical developments with relevant experimental platforms. \nMore information: https://sites.google.com/view/cuantos8
