SUMMARY:SLAC/Stanford Ultrafast X-ray Summer School 2026
DESCRIPTION:The school will take place from 15-18 June\, 2026\, and is hosted by the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and the Stanford PULSE Institute and co-organized by the Center for Free-Electron Laser Sciences (DESY and University of Hamburg\, Germany) and Paul-Scherrer Institute (Switzerland). \nCore lectures this year will cover: \n\nFundamentals of X-ray free-electron lasers\nTheory of x-ray matter interaction\nAtomic and molecular physics\nUltrafast chemical dynamics\nCondensed matter physics\nStructural biology\nMatter in extreme conditions\n\nIn addition\, special lectures will be on attosecond science\, ultrafast electron diffraction\, resonant inelastic X-ray scattering\, and X-ray correlation spectroscopy. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the Linac Coherent Light Source\, and work in teams to develop their own project ideas. \nQuestions?
