IEEE Advances in Magnetics Conference (AIM 2027)

07 January 2027 - 10 January 2027
We are pleased to announce the Special Session on Ultrafast Magnetization Dynamics at XUV and X-ray Facilities, which will be held as part of the IEEE Advances in Magnetics Conference (AIM 2027).
The conference will take place in Bardonecchia, Italy, January 7–10, 2027. An overview of the scientific program is available at www.aim2027.it/topics/.
This special session will highlight recent advances in the investigation of spin and magnetization dynamics using state-of-the-art XUV and soft X-ray imaging and spectroscopic techniques. Particular emphasis will be placed on ultrafast phenomena in magnetic materials occurring on femtosecond and picosecond timescales.
The session aims to provide a forum for presenting and discussing the latest experimental and theoretical developments, while exploring new scientific opportunities enabled by the unique coherence, brightness, and time-structure of modern X-ray sources, including free-electron lasers, diffraction-limited synchrotrons, and laser-driven high-harmonic generation sources.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Novel XUV and X-ray techniques for investigating ultrafast magnetization dynamics
  • Laser-induced ultrafast magnetization dynamics and magnetic switching
  • Optical/X-ray and THz/X-ray pump–probe experiments
  • Studies of chiral and topological magnetic materials using twisted X-ray beams
  • X-ray imaging of ultrafast magnetic phenomena
  • Theory and simulations of X-ray spectroscopies applied to magnetic materials
We warmly invite you to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations to the conference, and in particular to this special session.
Submission guidelines are available at www.aim2027.it/abstract-submission/.
