2 PostDoc positions Out-of-Equilibrium, Strongly Correlatedand and Topological Quantum Many-Body Systems, University of Salerno, Italy

Two PostDoc positions of one year, extendable to two, starting strictly by December 1st, 2024, on out-of-equilibrium, strongly correlated, and topological systems are available at the Department of Physics of the University of Salerno (Italy) in the group of Prof. Adolfo Avella. The project involves theoretical and computational research in close connection with a few teams of very excellent experimentalists, offering a rich environment for interdisciplinary collaboration. Side theoretical and computational projects in unconventional superconductivity and multi-orbital systems, even in the presence of defects, are also available. The planned work is based on the newly developed Dynamical Projective Operatorial Approach (DPOA), a method for studying the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of quantum many-body systems, and the Composite Operator Method (COM), a technique for analyzing the properties of correlated systems, starting from ab-initio results (DFT + Wannier90/FPLO).

Refs: Nature Photonics 17, 1059 (2023); arXiv:2307.01244 (2023), to appear in PRB; arXiv:2404.10768 (2024).

Candidates should have a degree in Physics, as well as adequate skills in theoretical (Green's function formalism, DFT, ...) and computational physics (Fortran, C++, Python, OpenMP, MPI, ..., Elk, Quantum Espresso, Wannier90, ...), in particular for topological, strongly correlated, and out-of-equilibrium systems. Please indicate your knowledge and experience in these fields in your CV, if any.

For unavoidable bureaucratic reasons, the position should start strictly by December 1st, 2024. Accordingly, it is highly recommended that applicants apply only if they do not need to acquire a "work permit" in Italy or if they already have one or a European equivalent.
