Postdoc Position Experimental Gas Phase Kinetics, Argonne National Lab, Lemont, IL,USA

The Argonne National Lab has an opening for a postdoc in the Chemical Dynamics in the Gas Phase Group at Argonne National Laboratory. The position is to study reactions over broad ranges of temperature and pressure that are important in particle formation and combustion systems. The experiments will primarily be conducted with a unique miniature shock tube equipped for molecular beam mass sampling mass spectrometry and optical diagnostics. We have recently installed a laser system as a tunable VUV-photoionization source and a key part of the post will be to develop methods utilizing laboratory photoionization mass spectrometry. In addition to laboratory experiments, studies will also be conducted at synchrotron facilities.
