4-year Ph.D. position on Rotational Spectroscopy, University of Valladolid,Spain (Deadline: 18.02.2026)
Open 4-year Ph.D. research position in high-resolution rotational spectroscopy at the Department of Physical Chemistry and Institute CINQUIMA of the University of Valladolid (UVa), under the supervision of Alberto Lesarri and Cristóbal Pérez.
The PhD student will work on a project focused on experimental developments and molecular studies on rotational spectroscopy, supported by quantum mechanical calculations. Specifically, the project will investigate cryogenic techniques for ultra-cold spectroscopy, applications to three-wave mixing chiral detection, non-covalent Interactions and structural and isotopic discrimination.
The contract includes full social benefits and health insurance for a period of 4 years. A maximum of 60 hours of (optional) teaching may be assigned yearly. Funding for research visits during the Ph.D. time (up to three months) are also considered.
- Eligibility criteria
The candidate must hold a Master degree in Physics, Chemistry or related fields. The UVa adheres to the European Human Resource Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).
- Required background
Previous research experience on physical chemistry, molecular physics, high-resolution spectroscopy and/or quantum chemistry will be primarily examined. Further experience with computer programming and instrumentation will be additionally considered.
- Application
For a preliminary selection please send us your CV, presentation letter and reference/s. The final selection process will be handled electronically by UVa.
